During this session, verified attention was recorded only while the actively-narrated paragraph remained within the reading-focus band displayed in the center of the application window, with the application window held focused. Intervals when the active paragraph scrolled outside the band, when the reviewer switched tabs, or when the reviewer left the application were detected and recorded separately as paused time. When such an interval exceeded the brief grace period, audio narration was suspended and verification was withheld until the reviewer returned the active paragraph to the band.
The reviewer was able to tap any paragraph to navigate to it directly, with subsequent attention to that paragraph counted toward its verified-attention total. Paragraphs visited more than once are noted in the record.
Identity verification is performed by reviewer-facing image capture at the start and end of the session. The reviewer has consented to this capture as a condition of beginning the session.
